President Joey request funds to pay for the cheese sticks that will be provided at the town hall meeting.
SGA will be giving out mini questionnaires at the front of the cafeteria next Tuesday and Thursday. The questionnaire will have only two questions; What do you like about Transy? and , What would you like to see changed? Please fill these out these questionnaires so that we can better Transy’s campus.
Vice President’s Report
A Greek forum will be held by panhel/IFC in conjunction with SGA. All unaffiliated students are invited to attend. We will be hearing complaints and answering questions. The forum will be held in the Campus center gym. A few SGA member will be there to facilitate discussion.This is the first of a series of forums, and there will be a forum in the future for students of the greek community
Dr. Cairo has approached SGA about having a civic engagement group. It will be based on discussion of civic documents.
One of our senators, Cooper, had a meeting regarding “August Term”. The new august term will be 1 week long. Scholars will be paid and are required to come 3-4 days earlier for training. The program will continue through first semester on Tuesdays during open hour.
Senator Elias gave an academic affairs presentation in an on-campus advisory committee
Senator Shelby read her proposal regarding trash cans/recycling bins. The proposal stems from the Bluegrass recycling audit -Transy’s recycling has abnormally high level of contamination. All trash cans must be accompanied by a recycling bin. A possible remedy: standardize trash and recycling receptacles.
A senator looked into getting Crimson card access to new buildings for all students. Administration has deemed it a security issue and the project was tabled.
SGA will be hosting another Faculty lunch on Tuesday with Profesora Contreras.
